Here’s ten random things about Ezra that I always want to share, but procrastinate ever blogging about and therefore you never hear about:
1. I cut his beautiful hair. I usually cut it by hand, but decided to shave the whole thing so he could be cooler in this awful heat. We tried cutting the back with clippers around Easter, but that didn’t go over so well. This time was slightly less traumatic, but I have to hold him and kiss on him while I’m doing it which means both of us were coated in hair. Eww.
He looks cute with his new do. I can’t run my fingers through his hair, but he still likes me to play with it. He’ll take my hand and put it on top of his head. These pics are from the Pioneer Day celebration so his hair had grown out a little bit. (P.S. EVAN if you are reading this check out the third pic. Ezra’s doing the signal!)
2. He says “Please” and “Thank you”. The thanks usually comes before you actually do what he’s asked you to do, but still, it’s a start!
3. He likes to make meal requests. Pancakes are often the most requested. Sometimes cookies. Sometimes chicken. Sometimes cupcakes.
4. He runs laps around the kitchen and dining room until he gets sweaty. Sometime I’d like to put a pedometer on him and see how far he goes in a day.
5. He asks if you’re okay when he hurts himself.
6. He absolutely LOVES to “Get car go bye bye!” Makes me think he wants to leave here as much as we do! The older he gets the smaller the house gets. When baby number two comes we’ll have two babies and a home office sharing one room. The house only has a shower, so he’s still taking baths in the sink (it’s a really big sink but still!) If you wouldn’t mind saying a prayer (or two) for us, we really need to sell so we can move into a bigger space and hopefully before baby #2 arrives.
7. He actually likes his naps and if he’s tired will ask to go to sleep. The only time he ever fought going down was a brief couple of months when he was really little. Makes life so much easier!
8. He likes to sing. He’s getting good at all of the motions and is starting to remember a lot of the words. Favorites include: Twinkle, twinkle little star, Wheels on the Bus, Popcorn Popping, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam, and Itsy Bisty Spider.
9. He won’t go to sleep unless he gets kisses from both of us. It melts my heart.
10. He says “Hi! How are you?” as his morning greeting when you go to get him out of his crib. Cracks me up every time!
I’m so glad that I get to be his mother. He makes me happy.
