The New Year

Happy [belated] New Year! I took a bit of a blogging break (which turned in to more of a hibernation) over the holiday partially in anticipation of our new arrival. He’s finally here (4 days late) and we are so in love. I’ll share pics as soon as we get settled and the fog lifts.

A few shots from our holiday:

Ezra experienced his first Christmas parade. We all tripled up on clothes and still froze our mistletoes off. It was 57°. Yes… we’re wimps.

I love this man:

Christmas morning:

Jingle Bells

This is Ezra’s favorite Christmas song. It’s been part of our bedtime routine for the past couple of nights. It’s the only thing that can get him from trainer to pants to pjs (although we didn’t include any pj shots). Take note of his little choreography during certain parts of the song. He cracks us up!

P.S. Sorry the video quality isn’t that super. We used our phone. Our regular camera was out of battery… again.

DIY Reupholstered Egg Chair

Brad and I were considering a modern rocker we found on Craigslist for the nursery, but we wanted to recover it. The chair has a slight concave molded  shape and I’d hate to spend the money to recover it so I wanted to see if/how we could do it ourselves. That’s how I found this recovered egg chair. I’m always so impressed at any DIY upholstery project, but holy cow! (no pun intended) This one takes the cake!

In total they spent about $200. The chair in cowhide sells for $15,038.00!

Too bad there were no instructions. I also want to know how they scored an egg chair for so cheap. Lucky!! Read more about the transformation at Hip and Stingy.

Tinkering with the blog

Happy Monday! I created some Modern Home buttons a little while ago. Feel free to grab one. If you need a different size just let me know. (Or if you need tech support putting it up my hubby can help!) Also, I’m finally getting around to creating a blog roll which is a lot harder than it sounds. At one point I had over a hundred design blogs in my reader! Ah! Hopefully I’ll get that up and running in the next few days. If you have a design related blog let me know. I’d love to check it out!
